Dear Edward I am so very sorry that we never got to reconnect after you left for Australia permanently. I will always remember with great fondness our time in BP High School and at Taylor’s College in KL. Who can forget the dinners that we had together with your flat mate, Boey, Sing Bin, Fong Chew, etc and me on an almost daily basis in Bangsar, and our long walks to the pasar malam in Bangsar Baru on the weekends? And when you were studying in Australia and me in the UK, you sent me a tape of John Farnham’s “The Voice” which I’ll always remember. You were one of the good guys. So, I and the rest of the bunch of friends in BP and KL will miss you. Our deepest condolences to your family too. Chien Mien

My heartfelt condolences to Angeline & family. God bless you all. Edward was a very good friend. We were from the same cohort that did law and economics at Adelaide Uni. I have so many fond memories of our uni days. One of those memories was watching with delight how Edward fell blissfully in love with beautiful Angeline. Edward & Angeline just beamed with happiness.

Michael Tan -

A year apart we were at birth A lifetime shared up to this first And though I was the elder one It was you, who often led from front As children peering into the box Two red teams on a black n white screen You took your pick And I, mine Twenty long years did I then wait Hansen, Souness and Dalglish reigned Though Giggs and Beckham did come along You had already had your fun The tide did turn and I had my day Istanbul moments seemed faraway But now that Klopp has found a way You could have watched on and stayed Those carefree childhood days On bicycles we roamed the streets Library books, Monopoly and Mahjong We did it all together then Too soon it was, I had to go A boarding school far out of town And in my absence you became The elder brother to the brood On school breaks did I return You brought me into your team From midfield you fed the balls To strike into the corners of the stall The glory was mine but none could recall The hard work done to win the ball Our team mates are quite distraught Such selflessness was all for naught In love and family you were first Both wife and child you had ahead I learned as I watched from afar How you nurtured kith and kin Friends you had, and so did I And yours always became mine too You are a glue that binds us all The absence that is felt when it is gone And now my brother, the time has come For us all to bid you farewell Dearly missed for what you are The one who showed us how it's done Rest in peace, my brother. You'll never walk alone.

Asha, Bernard, Cheryl-Lynne, Enjie, June, MC, Say Pin, Sherilla and Shiewie -

Dearest Edward. We will all miss you deeply. Seems like just yesterday, but we've been privileged to have been friends with you for over 33 years, since Adelaide Uni. We will all remember fondly our time together in Uni - from spotting you and Angie at DJs when the two of you started dating, and the mailbox incident at law school which confirmed our suspicions; accommodating the gooseberries who'd tag along when you guys went grocery shopping at Central Market; all the coffees at Petty Sessions on Gouger Street; and how inseparable you and Angie were - we never saw one without the other, how you doted on her, beaming back when Angie went "Werrrd". Although we didn't see each other as often after Uni, you made sure that you stayed in contact with all of us throughout the years, and would organise and host meet-ups. You've been a kind, true and generous friend who's always been there to lend anyone in need, a helping hand. You'll always be in our hearts. Love and hugs to Angie, Jeremy, Josh, Jill and Jing.

Arlette & David Yaw. London -

Our sincere condolences to Angeline & children, and all the Tan and Ng families. We are so pleased we got to meet Edward with Angeline in UK last year - what a super guy in all regards. We may be a long way away from Adelaide, but out thoughts will be with you on Thursday.

You were kind and so generous to my family and I when we emigrated to Adelaide. Our fond memories of South Australia from Barossa to Morialta Conservation Park, helping find our first home and the children's first school started with you. We are blessed to have known you. Rest in peace Edward. To Angie and the family my deepest condolences.

Irene Kazantzidis -

You fought a hard battle Ed. You're now an angel in heaven. Rest in peace by friend.

KAREN LIM -

Jin, you will be sorely missed. I always took it for granted that I could always pick up the phone and ring you at any time but that is not possible now. I have lost a fatherly and brotherly figure to whom I could always turn to for advice. You were so pivotal in my Australia story. Rest in eternal peace cousin, you are no longer in pain.

Gerard Goh -

Thank you Edward for your kindness and friendship over the years. It has been a real pleasure knowing you. Thank you for your support and always lending a hand. We will miss your Ho Ho Ho's at Christmas. May you rest in peace. You fought the good fight and finished the race ! God bless.

Tess -

May Edwards soul rest in peace in the arms of our Lord . Selfless, wonderful husband and father . In life we choose to serve rather than to be served . Edward was one of those beautiful human beings . May Angels surround his family during this grieving time . RIP

Nicole & Renaud Massenet -

It is with profound sadness that we learnt of Edward's passing all too soon. Even though we never had a chance to share much with you personnally, we knew that you could only be a special person on the day of your wedding to Angeline when we witnessed your bond to the Ng family, so dear to our hearts. Our prayers go to you, Angeline, the children and extended families. May you rest in peace. Your great spirit and good deeds will live forever. May you all find the strength to go through those very difficult times.

Quek Ngee Meng -

I was shocked to learn that you had left us. We caught up around six years ago in your Adelaide house and had had a good dinner.
