St Mary’s Catholic Church, 179 Stanley Street, North Adelaide
on FRIDAY, October 10, 2025, commencing at 11:00 a.m.
The Mass will also be broadcast via livestream.

The memories keep flooding in of the fun we shared both during our careers with Foreign Affairs, and after. Beloved 'Big Christine' to our son Jack who adored her from when he was a toddler. Always impeccably turned out with a great sense of style. Lots of laughs. I'll always remember walking with her in Parliament House when Paul Keating passed us by. I’m so shocked and saddened by the passing of beautiful Christine. She was such a wonderfully passionate spirit, who was also blessed with beauty, style and glamour. I remember her walking around the house looking a million dollars, her ear glued to a livestream from the chambers of parliament. I could hear her rebutting the politicians as they spoke, only pulling her ear away long enough to tell me how wrong they were. She was a gift and is sorely missed. Rest in peace, beautiful Christine.
I first met Christine in the late 80’s in Canberra. She had just returned from posting and needed a car and I had my lime green Holden Gemini for sale. She arrived to do “the inspection” of the car, looking very gorgeous in a silk dress! Christine didn’t want to know any details about it, her only concern being “…the colour won’t match any of my outfits!”. After some quick talking, I convinced her to buy the car, and from all accounts she loved it and kept it for many years! I was a few years younger than Christine, but her joie de vivre and style really made a big impression on me. I’ll never forget her.
Beautiful Christine, I’ve loved and admired you since 1981 when I was an 11 year old kid. I admired your free spirit, creativity, sense of fun and the fact you worked for Foreign Affairs, which became my dream for many, many years. You have touched many people and you will be greatly missed. My daughters, husband and I will remember you for many years to come and wish you peace and rest. Condolences to Christine’s much loved family. Christine arrived on our Swedish doorstep in the early 70’s, along with several girlfriends she met en-route to London. They shared a car travelling through Europe and, she laughingly told me, visiting anyone any of them vaguely knew on their travels. The person who actually suggested the host got to sleep in a bed, if there was only one spare bed available. She will be greatly missed by family and many friends.

I could not help but admire her for the support she gave to the family she met whilst living in Bertram St .
