Filamena and Ralph -

Hello Edith/Martin, I am very sorry to hear about you son/brother. Our condolences to you, your mother and your family.

Petra Kuhn -

Dear uncle Axel, after 48 years missing we found you and reconnected. You with your family members in Australia and your two brothers with families in East Germany. I'll never forget your first call with me, you and your brother Martin on Skype 2008. I was so excited and happy to find you both via internet and we talked together for 3 hours in a mix from German and English. 2011 a big dream of mine came true....I came to Australia with my husband Christian and met you with your family at Brisbane. We met a wonderful lovely man and family. You showed us the Gold Coast, the Rain forest and Brisbane - best places by day and night. It was the best time in our life and a wonderful gorgeous time. It will be a sight forever in our hearts and minds. I had always hoped that we would come back one day and replay this fantastic time all together. It's now 2 months ago, that your brother Günter passed away and you wrote: "RIP Günter Hahnheuser. A kinder soul never existed. You will be missed by your brother" Today is it now my part to write: "Dear uncle Axel, we will miss you". In deep sadness, your niece Petra in Germany xoxoxoxox

Ralph HAHNHEUSER -

Unfortunately I am unable to attend in person due to work and family commitments, but have made a donation in Axels name to the UNICEF earthquake emergency appeal in lieu of the airfares to Adelaide. Axel was always one to put others first and selflessly devote himself to those in need. His larger than life adventures and stories will live on in his loving family.

Axel and I became friends when I first started security patrols in 2000's. We became friends over time. After almost a decade of long conversations he taught me how to spell and speak. He encouraged me to do better in my life and not let self narratives hold me back. I don't know if I'd be who I am and have the success I have without him. One day I hope to have the impact on someone as he did in my life. I love you buddy You're friend always
