One of the most patient and respected Scout leaders I know. Your smiling face and calm manner will be missed.

Throughout his illness, Jim was one of the most positive people you could meet. it was always a case of "things are coming good" For 50 plus years I was proud to have Jim as a friend and we enjoyed many good times and the 'occasional' beer. Farewell Jim, gone but never to be forgotten. Peter & Chris Monkhouse

Jim was a great man who always had a story to tell and lived his life to the fullest. Thank you Jim for welcoming and mentoring both Dylan and myself at the Stradbroke Scout Group. Your loss is a great one to the Scouting community but a bigger one to your family. Rest In Peace.

Condolences dear Anthea, Tim and Family. Jim was a 'gentle giant' and it has been a pleasure to have known him over the past 50ish years - sporadic as it was - and he was always the same happy fellow. He will be sorely missed. May he rest in peace. love to you all.

Feeling sad at the loss of another Old Mate. We had many good times since we were teenagers. Fond memories of driving up to Tailem Bend each week after work to catch up with Jim for a drink whilst he was posted there with Telecom, or was it still the PMG then. Sorry I am unable to be at the Funeral today due to my health but I did make it to your Wedding 42 years ago as your Best Man, something that's hard to forget... 2.5 hour service then the Reception Speech followed by the Priest trying to recruit me to the Choir because of my speech delivery. Condolences to Anthea and Timothy, Laura and new Baby.

Alan & Colleen Bennett -

Jim was a great neighbour and always interested to hear what was going on in our lives. His love for being around and serving others will not be forgotten. I will miss waving to you as you drive past and our conversations at the park. Rest in peace Jim.

You were an amazing human who taught me so much about aspiring to being just that. You made a huge contribution to my kids development and so many hours of your time and energy were dedicated to this. I will miss you, we will miss you. I hope you realise that the little kid in me appreciated you immensely, thank you.
