John’s Funeral Mass will be celebrated entirely in
St David’s Catholic Church, 2 Vizard Road, Tea Tree Gully
on THURSDAY, July 9, 2026, commencing at 11:00 a.m.
(Thursday, July 9, 2026, at 2:30 a.m. in the United Kingdom)
The Mass will also be broadcast via livestream.

We share our sad news today, that John passed away at home,
watched over by his wife Sheila and his four sons – Peter, Joseph, Philip, Timothy.
A loved husband.
A devoted and respected Dad.
Loved by his daughters-in-law Teresa, Sonnja, Marian.
Loved and adored grandad to his 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
To know him was to love him.
Now quiet and peaceful.
His passions were his family and the beautiful game.

Condolences to the entire Mullen family on the passing of a deeply loved and wonderful patriarch. A true gentleman who will be missed so much by so many. We will fondly remember the times we spent with John, great conversations with plenty of humour. He was so proud of all his family and their achievements, and we had many good times to reflect on. To the Mullen family, we were deeply saddened to hear of the passing of the heart of your family. He was a wonderful man whose love for his family knew no bounds, and that love touched everyone fortunate enough to know him. We were all better for having known him. His warmth, his strength, and the example he set will stay with us always. He will be sadly missed but never forgotten. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time.
One of the warmest people I’ve met in my life, a bundle of energy and positivity. It’s impossible not to smile when I think of my self proclaimed “Favourite Uncle John”. So sorry to hear of Uncle John’s passing. He always had a smile, a joke to tell, and was such a wonderful friend to my Mum and Dad. I’ll always remember him fondly.
