John’s Funeral Liturgy will take place in
the Wattle 1 Reflection Room at Enfield Memorial Park,
corner of Gordon Avenue and Ridgeway Avenue, Enfield,
on MONDAY, October 27, 2025, commencing at 1:00 p.m.,
followed by refreshments in the Limestone 1 Room.
The Liturgy will also be broadcast via livestream.

Died at home on Saturday, September 20, 2025, aged 73 years.
John was the loving eldest child of Kathleen and Kostas Tymukas (both deceased).
He is survived by his siblings
Anna, Peter, Thomas, Julia and Paul,
and by their partners
Helen, Pamela, Stephen and Anne.
He will also be fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews,
Katrina, Lara, Brigid, Simone, Benjamin, Jakob, Mikaela, Danika,
Caitlin, Patrick, Timothy, Alice, Jack and Lucy,
by their partners,
Sam, Dave, Tim, Kaeli, Hannah and Isobel,
and by his great-nieces and great-nephews,
Henry, Oliver, Luca, Charlie, Lilly, Hamish, Clara and Patrick.
John will be sadly missed and remembered for his generosity
by his extended family and many friends.
He will live on in all of the memories that he created in our lives.

Martin and I were shocked and deeply saddened to hear of John's recent passing. Martin and John worked together at IHI Engineering in North Sydney some 45 years ago and I would have met John in 1983. Along with George and Yardley Kyling and Judy Pittaway, we maintained our friendship over the years and when John moved to the UK, we would meet for lunch each time John would come back to Australia to visit his family in South Australia and then stay in Sydney with George and Yardley. John, you will always be remembered for your softly spoken, caring personality, your sharp intellect and your knowledge and perception of world history and events. Your presence will be sorely missed, your memory will always live on and we will raise a glass to you at our next get-together. RIP John Patrick Tymukas

John, Brilliant. Just utterly brilliant. I worked with John in London on the Crossrail underground tunnels. I pay my respects to a kind, inspiring man.
Dear John was a very memorable part of our lives from the time he and Denis started at Downlands College in Toowoomba in Year 11. They both went onto uni to study engineering and remained lifelong friends. John often met us in Europe when he was living in London and joined our family adventures discovering Italy and France. He always came to stay with us in January (after his wonderful family Christmas in Adelaide) in his beloved Brisbane and surrounds where he had many old friends. John became part of all our families, the extended Tomasel and Deveney families and enjoyed his visits to the beach and Stanthorpe. We will miss him and his charming, gentile nature and devoted friendship over 56 years. He hope he is now resting in peace, after his many marathons, with darling Kathleen and Kostas. I was so sorry to hear about John’s passing. I met John through Dulwich Runners about 25 years ago, where his friendship and encouragement helped me become a better runner. I have fond memories of seeing him in Adelaide a few years ago and enjoying a lovely bike ride together. These memories will always be cherished. He will be deeply missed.
John became a friend when I joined Dulwich Runners. How could we not be friends!? His love of sport and enthusiasm for life was infectious and his support for my running was always appreciated. His commitment in races and training was inspiring and his kindness and strength away from the track/road was a constant I could rely upon. I am so sorry he has gone but may he rest in peace (unless there's a track in heaven, of course)!
So very sorry to hear of John's passing. I knew John in London, a friendly guy always up to something, planning something, and with good cheer. I know he had a supportive network in Australia so thank you all for making his challenges a little easier. Gone too soon from all of us.
I first met John in 1999 when we were working in London as structural engineers. We both got involved with Engineers Australia UK-Chapter where John served on the committee and as Honorary Treasurer in 2012-13. John always had a smile, was kind, friendly, funny and I enjoyed catching-up with him at the annual X-Mas Soiree at Australia House for some tall tales and laughter. Rest in peace John and condolences to your family.
Our deepest condolences to all our cousins in Australia on the sad loss of John. Giedre and I remember cousin John as the first Australian relative who visited Lithuania and all of us had an opportunity to get acquainted for the first time. He was our Lithuanian Columbus. We remember John with deep gratitude and love. After Lithuania regained its independence, he made the long journey to visit us - not just across miles, but across generations - bringing our family closer together. I went to Uni (QUT) with John more than 50 years ago and still remember him as a warm and friendly colleague and class mate. Despite his more recent health issues, he was the same person many years later at our recent Uni reunions - he will be missed by us all. Rest in peace John
