Born 8 December 1965.
Passed away peacefully at Mary Potter Hospice,
28 March 2024, aged 58, after a very brave fight with cancer.
Much loved partner of Blair.
Adored mother of Callie and Jess.
Loving daughter of Joan † and Peter.
Dear sister of Maree, Christine, Karen, Greg † and Denise † and their families.
Loved daughter-in-law of Barbara and John Hopwood,

Louise, you were not just my supervisor throughout my Honours and PhD; you were my guiding light, my mentor, and my pillar of support during my studies in Australia. Your impact on my academic journey is immeasurable, and without you, I wouldn't have achieved what I have today. I will always cherish our memories together. Rest in peace, Louise. Louise, you fought a brave battle! I first met you during my days as a Biochemistry Honours student when you were completing your PhD. I appreciated the few chats we had then the many more years later as colleagues. A beautiful person and so thankful to have briefly seen and hugged you during your battle. I just heard the sad news and it brought back fond memories of rogaining and hikes in the Flinders Ranges many years ago. I know Louise was a very talented researcher in genetics, and she will be greatly missed by so many people. My condolences to Blair and the family.

Liza and I have many fond memories working in the old department with Louise all those years ago and thinking back, we cant recall ever seeing her not smiling! Our condolences to Blair and family. I hope the lasting impact she had on so many will help, even if a little, to ease the pain of her loss.
