Sam Tonkin -

Mary was such a wonderful part of my very happy childhood, Mary in the kitchen helping us make toffees, Mary returning home after a big win at the races, Mary taking us to Hungry Jacks for a Yumbo. All these memories begin and end with Mary and Brigalow Avenue.

Andy Forrest -

Mary K and the Davey family have been part of my life for 60yrs.She welcomed me into the family because I used to throw stones at her eldest son Kym.She thought the way to prevent that was to advise him to befriend me. Little did she know that he would become a lifetime friend and that the family would “adopt” me. So much so that she called me her third “son”. I am privileged to have known her. She was a force of nature, indomitable spirit, vivacious and had a great love of family and friends. Mary K you will always have a special place in my heart. Jane,Lou,Kym,Steph,Simon and Ally, love to you all at this difficult time.

Wishing we were there to say farewell dear Nonna, but you know that you will forever be in our hearts. What an amazing race you ran for almost 93 years, and what joy you brought to my life and Sam’s in recent years (even if you called him ‘Ben’ more often than not). Say hi to Poppa and Rosie for me. xx
