Michael’s Funeral Mass will be offered in
Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church,
7 Mann Street, Mount Barker on
WEDNESDAY 1 April 2026 at 10:30 a.m.
Following Mass, the Committal Service
will take place in the
Hahndorf Cemetery, 172 Snelling Road, Hahndorf.
In lieu of floral tributes, memorial donations to the
Mount Barker Conference of the St Vincent de Paul Society
would be appreciated.
Envelopes will be available at the Church.

Patricia and family - we are so sorry for your loss. I'm sure you will draw strength and comfort from having family and friends come together to celebrate Michael's life. Sorry that we can't be there but am sending love from Chas Haswell and family. You are all in our thoughts.
Patricia and family, my prayers and thoughts are with you all. Michael was such a vibrant part of the Archdiocese of Adelaide, and I was around at the time when he was such a driving force in so many ways in our SA Catholic Community. Thank you Michael for your great contribution over many years.
May Michael return to the Father whom he served so faithfully in and beyond the Archdiocese of Adelaide. His rich Christian life helped build up the Kingdom of God among us with wisdom, devotion, professionalism and good humour. May the comfort promised by Jesus be yours Pat and all the family’s. My deepest sympathy to Pat and family on the death of your dearly beloved Michael who afforded us the privilege of getting to know a very special person. I am reminded of the words of the poet Longfellow, ‘Lives of great men all remind us that we can make our lives sublime and departing leave behind us footprints on the sands of time’. Michael has left footprints on all our hearts. It was my great privilege to get to know Michael on his trips to Ireland. He was so inspiring and loving. May his noble soul rest in peace.
