Oh Phil, how much fun did we have on our Arctic and Antarctica adventure. We bantered together so much and literally laughed until we cried. We fought, we nagged and most importantly we laughed and laughed and laughed. You called me a phillistine because I didn't share your love of opera and I made you pay for that a hundred fold. You had the cheekiest grin and the best sense of humour. Even your never ending moaning made me smile and laugh. Our trip would not have been the same without you and Anne. Rest in Peace dear friend... With much love Caroline and Charlie.
Phil it was a pleasure to get to know you as we journeyed from the Arctic to the Antarctic. Your amazing knowledge, sense of humour and spirit of adventure made you a much loved part of the 55’ers. Our love and thoughts are with Anne and your extended family. With love, Carmen & Allan Cain xxx

Such a pleasure to have meet you Phil, I will fondly remember the time we spent with you on our travels. The beautiful day spent seeing Niagra Falls, and the laughter we shared on many occasions. Rest in peace and may God bless you xxx
I was saddened to hear of his passing. I have many fond memories of our 2025 Longitudinal Cruise with Viking. He was a great member of the "55 Club" from that voyage and a valued part of our little survivor group that gathered in The Hide to swap our situational stories. He will be greatly missed, and my thoughts are with his family and friends during this difficult time.
A loss of a man, very respected, very admired....Always a beloved brother to Helen and Francine......I will miss the advice, the temperament, the resolve...watching you & mum always bait each other..even into your twilight years. I will remember always the quiet words, the gentle silences we have shared throughout our life. You inspired me in ways you may never know, to be always ernest & respectful, even in abject disagreeance...when to be stoic and when to be strong. I thank you and am thankful that you have been present in our family's life....
Dearest Anne It was such a pleasure to get to know Phil over the past few years. He will be very sorely missed by many especially you; your travel buddy, your rock, your everything. Take care Anne and I’ll hopefully see you up north soon xxxx
Phil will be remembered as a true gentleman the likes of which are hard to find. We are honoured to call Phil family and are endlessly grateful for the joy and love he shared with Mum xx
