Richard’s Funeral Liturgy will be held entirely in
the Frank J Siebert Funeral Chapel, 5 Gorge Road, Paradise
on THURSDAY, March 28, 2024 commencing at 11:00 a.m.
The family will be wearing colours,
and invite you to join them (please avoid wearing black).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to
The Hospital Research Foundation Group would be appreciated.

Richard was born on June 25, 1941, in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei.
He passed away on March 10, 2024, in Adelaide, South Australia.
Aged 82 years.
Adored husband of Maria.
Beloved father of Melvyn, Beatrice, and Cynthia;
and father-in-law of Sulin.
Loved grandfather of Ashleigh and Isabelle.
Treasured uncle to all of his nieces and nephews.

Great memories of uncle Richard for the Sunday kueh2 he brought to us forever hungry kids; for how he always called me by my nickname whenever we met & always reading the quotes I wrote on the wall of my teenage bedroom asking if I had new ones. However, we are so blessed to be able to see Uncle Richard just a few days before he passed. He was in good spirit, sharp, cheerful and remembered all of us. He even remembered Michael, my husband, which was really a surprised for me because the number of times they met were few before he left for Australia. He shared his tea and croissant with us, complaining that the staff do not know how to make good "milo".... We have fond memories of Say Gu Chong. May you Rest In Peace. I wasn’t keen on going to Australia at first when my sisters proposed last years but I felt I might regret if I don’t join them. Thanks God I did make the trip and get to be the last nieces to visit uncle Richard. We had a great time visiting him. He was super surprised by our visit. We had a great time chatting. RIP uncle.

It is indeed great sadness to know of Ah Pi QQ’s passing. I have fond memories of him all my life. He had always shown great kindness & love during all my Brunei visits & brief stay in Brunei 1994-1996. I will miss him very much. My mother is still mourning. Precious memories, how they lingered in us forever. My memories with Uncle Richard, he was a calm, caring and humorous person. When he sees anyone, he would greet them. Sometimes, you could hear his beautiful whistle before he even walks in the room that how's joyful he was and you want to be around with him.
