Lisa and Damian Shaw -

We are very sorry we are unable to attend Royce's memorial service, however we wanted to share our last chat with Royce not long after he took sick, as we feel it best describes the larger than life character we knew, loved and respected . I ( Lisa ) accidently dialed Royce's mobile looking for Judy. Royce answered with a gruff ' Hello ' . I said 'Hi Royce , how are you ? Its Lisa , My apologies - I thought I dialed Jude . I hear you have been in the wars this week? ' His reply , a very firm ' BULLSHIT LISA , YOU HEARD WRONG ! ' This made us laugh and smile , Royce not feeling well but still full of sass and attitude. We will miss him and all that fire . Sending a hug Jude and our love to the family . Damian and Lisa

To Judy and the family. we are so so sad to hear the news. We remember Royce as a lovely, calm bloke. He loved his grandkids, his Harley, wee Scally and always looked at you with a softness and kindness that was lovely to see. Every time we cross the footbridge at West Lakes we will think of him. We apologise for not being there due to Covid. Sending our love and thoughts. Merv and Shona.

So many fond memories of the the times I spent with Royce. He didn't suffer fools, had strong opinions and I enjoyed our discussions. So gruff at times yet one of the biggest and kindest hearts beat within. Loved and missed.
