Leonie Marie Gall -

Condolences on the loss of this beautiful woman. My parents knew her many years ago in Millicent and I was named Leonie Marie after her. My mother Corry passed away the same day as Sr Betty and my Aunty Jane informed me of Sister's passing. I have now discovered that I have a similar passion for caring for the homeless as she did. I am honoured to have been named after her. May she rest in peace.

James Gall -

Rest in peace Sister Leonie. I knew you for a short time in Grades 6 and 7 in Millicent where you were a young Sister. You helped me train as an altar boy and in how to play Aussie Rules as a young Scottish migrant. Thank you. What a life you have lived since then, rewarded now by the grace of God.

Margaret Pedler (nee Gall) -

My family came out from Scotland in 1959 and my brother, sister and I were enrolled in St Anthony’s Convent in Millicent in the South East. Sr Leonie, as a very young Sister, was one of our first teachers, and was adored by our family. It is sad that she has now passed away, but reaching 90, she has done wonders in her life helping others and will be missed by many. Sorry I can’t be at her funeral but will be thinking of her at that time. Margaret and Ian Pedler - Flagstaff Hill

Jane Iwanowitsch (nee Gall) -

I knew Sr Leonie as a child at Convent of Mercy, Millicent, having arrived from Scotland with my family in 1959. My family quickly immersed themselves in the life of the school - my older adult brother Rodney helped in many ways and had a great friendship with Sr Leonie. He said he would name his first daughter after her and he did. We all loved Sister and have fond memories of her. Rod’s wife, Corry died on the same day as Sister - a beautiful connection after all these years. We are proud of our Leonie - she is a generous and kind woman just like her name sake. Rest in Peace, Sr Leonie. X
